My girlfriend and I still can’t believe how cheap bike races are compared to running race (and we both have been semi-pro runners who earned money…not that much though). Fifteen years ago, 5K running races in were $15. For a good runner, that’s 16 minutes. Now think about the average CX race in 2009…$30 for 45 minutes. Now let’s look at the majority of people whining, $2500 for a decent CX bike, team kit, etc. and etc. and they’re complaining about an extra $5. Now, 5K races in Chicago are close to $40. Dudes, grow up, or get a new sport, like golf…:)
