Tuesday Afternoon CCC Update
We just found out about a fun little soiree (call it the CCCCCCCCCCW) happening this Friday evening from 8-11pm… and its not too far away from the race next morning. Make sure to reserve your room by tonight (11/10/09). Details on the party here.
Do you think they will allow us on Friday to ride the course at night with lights?

Are pets going to be allowed at the venue?
well….they accept dogs at the hotel and i’m either staying at the hotel or at my daughter’s house so they don’t have much choice than to allow my dog……….but it’s a good question since i was greeted at NORTHBROOK before i even got out of the car with “THE BOSS DOESN’T LIKE DOGS HERE”
then i was kicked out of the start/finish area because i had my dog and i had already been there for TWO hours. us dog loving people need to know these things BEFORE we drive over an hour to watch the races.
it was a sunday for petes sake….no kids at the day camp…..
Yeah, we got the same thing at Northbrook, and although I’m grateful that we were able to have the race and use the campground and so on, the owner was not very friendly about it, even though I was polite. But dogs were allowed in the park area, so it turned out OK. I will be calling ahead to the next venue if I plan on taking my dog.
The hope, according to SCW, is that the course will be ready for pre-ride by Friday afternoon.
Any late night recon is not officially scheduled in conjunction with the CCCCCCCCCCW and we’ll leave it at that.
Anyway! For those of you struggling to make your mind up in the last 15 available minutes for the promo code. You should call in and have a living, breathing person override any issues. Apparently it got over booked online (hopefully that’s the case) and whomever does booking over the phone can hook you up. The number to call is 630.529.0200. Even if you miss that chance, it looks like a room is still only $99.
I am reasonably sure dogs are allowed in the rooms and on the course.
Also, I believe you can get the special room rate all the way to the day of the event. I wouldn’t trust the online system as much as calling. You shouldn’t have a problem registering last minute.
Our plan is to set up the course on Friday afternoon. It will then be ready to pre ride if you’d like. Not sure about lights at night.
