Lots of fun in the mud today! 45 minutes to make the mess … one hour to clean it up. Well worth it!

I will guess this is the smallest plot of land that the CCC races on. Main Street Bikes course design receives 5 stars from this racer.
The new section in the corn field was a great example what you can do with flat ground. Thank you everyone that worked this race, I had a great time suffering.

DNF’d first lap on the rollers…snapped my chain. Learned a good lesson this week.

Thanks for getting some pics of us 40+ Masters. A nice little reward for warming up in 50 degree pouring rain.

Happy to share them Patrick!! I have more to upload and actually have had a request to purchase one of them so I will update my link here when I make that available!

Great race today in the mud! I absolutely love this course and the addition of the corn maze was a nice choice. Another smooth and well organized day. Cheers!

After my preride of the course I thought I knew what to expect….I was wrong. Hilarious and awesome.

I want to apologize to the Alberto’s Cat 4 kid I yelled out today. I had just seen my son David Reyes hit the ground hard while accelerating full gas out of the saddle. He was riding hard with Mr. Conant for 3rd place in the Cat 1/2/3 race. David was still dazed and in pain when, while walking back to the car we were approached by a rider asking if he could have David’s pins because at registration they had ran out of pins. Sorry I went off on you, is not my style to be an aggressive person, you just asked at the wrong time. One lesson I hope you learn is to always be prepared while going bike racing, don’t throw away your pins from the race before. Keep them in a bundle in your race bag. Promoters are not obligated to provide pins.

Pins… I have a ziploc bag with about a dozen pins in it. Lives in my race bag – when removing number from jersey, place pins back in ziploc, put ziploc back in race bag. Make it a habit.
Jeremy Powers uses an empty dental floss container. I know of others who use a little plastic patch kit container.

I actually wished for it to rain on Carpentersville – it seemed to help me a but at Jackson Park, but I regretted it pretty quickly today. I felt even slower than usual in all that slightly squishy grass, plus heavy legs from Psychocross… pretty awful riding even for me.
Cheers to the course workers for a much better pump track this year! Always a good event.

I lost a pair of Shimano MTB shoes, blue/grey, Crankbros cleats, frayed laces, eSoles inserts… Those shoes survived the Colorado trail from start-finish, and now are lost in a muddy blur after the 4As race.

If you find them, I would be forever in your debt.

A pair was turned in at Carpenter Park. All Lost & Found was sent to the next venue (Bartlett). Ask at registration next Sunday.

Just a head’s up that there was a pretty full bag of lost and found from today that I sent with an official working Sunday’s ABD Sunrise race. Check registration or the finish line next week if you were missing anything. There was also a set of arm warmers, a kids long sleep t-shirt and sunglasses left from DRW in the mix.

If you are missing other things, check in with the promoter’s of that race (or here) to see what else might’ve been collected during clean up.

Thanks to the Carpentersville promoters and CCC for another outstanding event. The course was a blast and the atmosphere was even better. The Octoberfest with the music, food, beer and coffee was great. My boys were stoked for the Kiddie Race and rides. They are already looking forward to next year. Thanks again for all your efforts……..they really paid off!

I witnessed the warmup laps to this race. Those kids were flying! Looks like the Pony Shop rider had the lightest bike. Very cool Walid! They looked like they were having fun all day.
