2026 Glenwood Academy Preview
September 24, 2026
- The South Chicago Wheelmen host the
2nd and 3rdopener and 2nd events of the series this Saturday 9/26 and Sunday 9/27 at Glenwood Academy CX in Glenwood, IL. - On the South side of the city, set your GPS to 187th N and N Pleasant Street Glenwood, IL 60425. The entrance at the stop light we’ve used in the past is still closed, so use the same entrance we did last year. Please drive slowly through the campus to the parking area. This is an active school with children, so please drive carefully like your own kid might be walking around.
- Registration closes Thursday night (TONIGHT!) for Saturday’s race and Friday night for Sunday’s race on BikeReg.com. It is way easier to reg online as opposed to at the venue (which you still can do), and we’ll have your CrossResults.com points if you reg online. If you sign up at the venue you’ll be staged at the back of the grid.
- You will get a new bib number (or numbers if you’re racing more than once) on Sunday. DO NOT WEAR YOUR SATURDAY NUMBER ON SUNDAY!
- Preliminary staging will be posted here Friday for Saturday‘s race and here Saturday for Sunday‘s race . As Saturday is still the first race of the series, everyone will be staged by CrossResults.com points. On Sunday the first row of 8 will be staged by series points and everyone else by CXR points. See the Rules & FAQ page for more details. Please check the preliminary staging sheets and email us on Friday or Saturday respectively if there are any errors as we cannot correct staging at the race.
- Just in case you missed it above… you will get a new bib number (or numbers if you’re racing more than once) on Sunday. DO NOT WEAR YOUR SATURDAY NUMBER ON SUNDAY!
- Please renew your USAC annual license BEFORE Friday evening before you go to bed.
- Weather looks sublime!
- SATURDAY: All Belgium Waffles will be onsite. Seems very cyclo-cross! SUNDAY: Unbeatable Eatables sandwiches food truck will be onsite. If you have dietary restrictions please pack your own food/drinks. There’s also plenty of stores on Halsted St just around the corner.
- Parking: You can use any parking lot. Plus use the grass. DO NOT park in any cottage (residence) driveway.
- Registration will be located near or next to officials at the finish line.
- Reg is NOT in Kenny‘s tent. If you are lost or not sure where to go and what to do… just listen for his voice.
- Here in the CCC Bib numbers are always on your left on the side of your jersey. Not on your back, not on your butt, not on your helmet or handlebars or fenders. Please help our officials and timing/scorer place you accurately in the results to keep the day running smoothly.

2025 Glenwood Academy Preview

- The South Chicago Wheelmen again host the series opener of the 2025 Chicago Cyclocross Cup this Sunday 9/28 at Glenwood Academy CX in Glenwood, IL.

2022 Glenwood Academy Preview

- The South Chicago Wheelmen host stop number two of the 2022 CCC at Glenwood Academy CX in Glenwood, IL.
- On the South side of the city, set your GPS to 500 W 187th Street Glenwood, IL 60425. Then please drive slowly through the campus to the parking area. This is an active school with children, so please drive carefully.
- The SCW usually have some sort of raffle to raise money for the academy, so look for that onsite.
- Single Speed Women will again start with the Single Speed Men.
- Look for preliminary staging to be posted here some time on Saturday. Remember the first row is by CCC Series Points, then everyone else is by CrossResults.com points. Let us know if you spot any errors. Thanks!
- And finally… its getting chilly. Please remember to bring and wear clothes for before AND after your race to stay nice and warm and toasty. See you all on Sunday!
