Took a ridiculous amount of photos of all the races. Masters 35+ uploading now. All photos should be posted on Facebook (http://on.fb.me/1oktgRG) and Jayloo (http://bit.ly/1w2vFQE) within the next 24 hours.
Photos will be posted in the order taken (race order).
Last time through the triple barriers in the 4/5 race I decided to try something new… the reverse upside down shoulder technique.
Step 1 – slam your front wheel in the first barrier
Step 2 – as the bike flips completely upside down up on to your shoulder, stop it by letting the seat smack into the side of your face
Step 3 – finish hurdling the next two barriers while the bike balances on your back and shoulder
Step 4 – flip the bike back over your should and try to look like you meant to do that
LOST: A pair of UVEX sunglasses – white frames with black lenses that were left in the far northwest corner of the course during the P123 race. I dumped them there with about 4 to go, saw them there still with 1 to go, but there were gone after the finish.
If located, I’ll pay for shipping (came down from the land of Cheddar). Contact me p.bro769 [at] gmail.com
The guys who were hanging out with their pickup trucks by the pump track section were yelling during later races that they had a Garmin. Not sure how you’d get a hold of them to find out if it was yours…
checked with the one of the ring leader of the tail gate crew and ” I found one but it was grey. It came of of racer 698 and was returned to him by me at the finish line at the end of his race.” Hopefully it turns up.
Anti-clockwise. Who would have guessed backwards would be so much fun? Thanks for coming into our neighborhood and supporting the local race. The guys at Main Street and the city of Carpentersville put on a great event, and we were glad to see you all out there again this week.
Hey Folks, great party yesterday, thanks for coming! I will have the uncollected payouts at Sunrise Park. Look for me (Jeff) around the Sasquatch team tent – I’ll have on a blaze orange baseball cap.
We had a great time at the Chicago Cross Cup in Carpenters Park. It was nice to come out and show support for the many teams and riders. Thanks to everyone who help to make this event possible. Here is a link to all of the pictures we took.
What do you mean? I’ve done the race the past two seasons. Other than coming from the other direction, I didn’t notice much difference. They were drier this year, but I assume that has to do with weather as oppose to design.
I narrowly avoided disaster as my seat came off my seat post during a pre ride. I’d like to thank a number of people for offering their help–Pony Shop Lou Kudn, Chandler Snyder, Rob Curtis, Annie Byrne of BFF Bikes (who offered me a loaner bike) and finally Tuxedo Thunder’s Max Friedman, who graciously offered me his seat post and seat so that I could do my race.
Also – anyone in the music biz? I Had an idea to make a video/slideshow mash up using All About the Bass…..you know right? All About the Bikes? Anyone?
I’m a pretty terrible editor, thus the resulting video is probably too long but a collection of shots taken throughout the day. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMEr80-KO7Q

Thanks for the great course design today! Especially the muck rollers and the off camber hill turns! Awesome!

That’s some fine technique indeed.
I got skills!

Anyone find a garmin edge 500 of the red variety? Please let me know if you have. Thanks.

The fields are really filling up for the CX race this Saturday on the North Shore. Don’t get left out?

Wait, there’s a CX RACE ON SATURDAY!? OH MY GOSH please post that a few more times apropos of nothing in a thread about another race..
Yeah, I’m doing the race because I’ve already paid, but the spamming makes me not really want to.

^^^ SquatchOne Looks like this, but has also been seen in the wild without a radio collar. Approach with caution.

Nice video, Andre! I’ve watched this more times than I care to admit.
Best Carpentersville course to date! The rollers were actually realistic this year, lets keep it that way.
