To anybody new to the series, we are beside the moon happy you’re here! There have been so many one day license riders racing this year. I wish you all luck, and want to remind you that we are here to help. So between email, this board/website, a majority of team tents, etc..please let us know if you ever have a question. We had a new rider asking minutes before their race if they had time to take a lap. Listen, it can seem intimidating since so many people are doing so many things. Browse last year’s messages on a weekly basis, read up usa cycling cyclocross rules. I take no pleasure in seeing failed bunny hops over the telephone pole at Hopkins or riders crashing in the 4/5’s before the start line and both placing in the 70’s. Many of our community are SO ready to share their knowledge. Just ask. See you at Sunrise Park Sunday.
To echo Kenny, I welcome new riders to stop by The Chainlink tent for a pre-ride buddy, ask questions, or just hang out. I was a beginner rider for my only 2 races last year and boy would it have been better if I had found someone to let me know what was going on. It’s such a great community!
Right on! Come see us at the Chainlink we’re pretty cool 😉
Yeah, just avoid that Zach guy. Blech.
😉
And to echo echoes… please take 20-30 minutes to read through our Rules and FAQ page. We’ve documented a ton of institutional knowledge on these pages over the years that should help jump start anyone into the series and how things work. And as always, if you have questions don’t hesitate to email us at ChicagoCrossCup at gmail.

Upgrade Friday here at CCC. Members of our community leading the way with dozens of upgrades this season. Chicago Cross Cup is developing riders en masse. Pretty sure the two years of having The Svens conduct so many clinics is one factor. Chances are the rider in front of you or behind you learned how to take that corner from the best in the world. So pay attention. Learn from every misstep and/or dab that costs you 3 seconds.
Remember, today is the deadline to take half of your hard earned series points with you. Email your intentions thru ChicagoCrossCup via gmail. Congratulations to all who have noticeably improved this year. Good luck Sunday!!
Speaking of newbies – this newbie forget his front pit wheel at the Dan Ryan event. Anyone have any knowledge or thoughts on whom I can contact? Checked with the Sram guys at the Carpentersville pit – and they were different guys. And had no knowledge of it.
I saw A wheel at Beverly CX pit tear down. Bobby worked SRAM there, and Andrés and José worked SRAM at Carpenter CX. I would check with Beverly Bike, MSB/SS, or ABD at the CCC trailer as they hosted these three weeks in row. Your wheel in more anxious than you are right now. Lost and found will be in a bike box at registration Sunday.
Thanks Ken – much appreciated. I’ll be there Sunday and check with the folks you mention. Thanks again for all that you do. What an amazing community this CCC group is.
There was a wheel picked up at DRW, was sitting at lost and found at Carpentersville, and was taken to Sunrise Park. Most anything that gets left behind after each race gets carted around from race to race. There is usually a lost and found box that are sitting near registration.
Sram does not collect left behind wheels, etc.
That’s great news – thanks! Lesson learned.
