Great Course…Left behind gray color fleece jacket w/ my race license (w name and ph #) and knee warmers in pocket. Cycling Republic tent? Thanks Scott Ross 55+
Sounds like I have it safe and sound in my garage, then. I’ll check the collar tag tonight to make sure. I won’t be at the race this weekend, but I’ll figure out a way to get it to you through our team if that works for you and you need it for this weekend’s race.
I keep telling myself “if you ride without a leash on your garmin, some day you’re going to lose it.”
Yesterday was that day
Lost a Garmin Edge 810
Hopefully, someone found it.
My wife was heading out past Campton yesterday, and had a feeling she’d find it.
She was right!
We spent what seemed like an eternity shuffling through the mud on Sunday night. She spent a few minutes and found it!
I’ve already ordered a fluorescent silicone case to help find it next time it falls off…
Thanks! I was inspired while reflecting on past race performances.
Great handups and 10/10 heckles from everyone, especially Bryan Lee this weekend. To the woman with the jello shots, you’re what makes the CCC so much fun. Thanks for running one to me after my initial fumble.
Ok, I hope I am not giving false hope, but I found a hat and when I went to put it in the lost and found box, I saw some keys in the lost and found box. Now I did not look to see if it was keys, a fob, or keys and a fob, so I apologize on that. That said, I did want to alert you to possibly follow up with the lost and found box. Good luck, I hope you find them.
Thanks to all of you who help make race day possible. You know who you are and we wouldn’t be able to put on one of the best CX series in the country without you. Thanks to the teams, racers and spectators for supporting our event and for leaving the park clean so we may do it again next year. Special thanks to Michael Page for grabbing a flag at that chaotic pedestrian crossing for 2.5 hours and for pulling me into the head wind for a couple of laps. Rob and I will head out to the park for a final clean up and look for items that people have lost. Otherwise check lost and found next week. See you Sunday.
Awesome race guys. I know all of us at Plus One loved the course. I was glad I/We where able to help out. I think all crossed the course unscathed! Peter, you where a great wheel to follow. It was the least I could do. Although I quickly realized I bit more than I could chew after that pull! See you soon.
CX Hangover Monday.
What an entertaining spectacle #CamptonCX was! Thank you Training Bible Cycling & Team Bicycle Heaven, race fans, and everyone who pinned on a number and competed. I enjoyed the great racing, and appreciate the great creativity on display with the Halloween costumes.
Just reminding everyone, US CX Nationals registration opened, and new book Cycling in Chicago (by xXx racing team member Chris McAuliffe) begins shipping today. Our friends at Rapha Chicago invite you to ride to Intelligentsia on Saturday Nov 4th. Meet 8am, ride at 8:30am from 1514 N Milwaukee. Free, but kindly RSVP online.
10 days later West Town Bikes celebrates 13 years of being amazing! Tues Nov 14th at 6pm in Revolution Brewery 2323 n Milwaukee. Tickets support work like the 413 clinics/workshops/clinics in the past year in which 322 youth, young people, and adults were engaged with building 161 bicycles, riding 1820 miles, d burning 19,521 calories. Yes, Hor D’oeuvres and Revelotion’s finest included in West Town Bikes ticket prices.
CWEC is kicking off their FOURTH year, and the 503c charitable women’s elite trade team program wants you to be a part “owner”, as well as support raise the road for cycling. Speaking of women, Ultimate Pro Bikes are hosting a 2pm meet and greet and all women are invited at the Nov 11th Pheasant Run Resort race. Let them know you are swinging by the UPB tent, so the juniors who host can plan lemonade and snacks as you will be able to network without the helmet on.
Oh, and three local podcasts. The Call Up, Road IS Dead, and Lily and Andrew (Pony Shop). You might like them.
Clean your bike. Have a good week. See you at Groundhog PSI-clocross!
Sunday’s cylco-cross race at Campton was my first bike race ever. For this 52 year old it was an absolute blast. Even gave the crowd a nice show with my spill at the big log. If anyone has a picture of it I’d love to see it. Can’t wait for Pheasant Run. I’m hooked.
We found a red and black Lazer helmet, a gray and black fleece jacket with a hood, a sweet set of Addidas multi colored tennis shoes and a metallic green water container out there from Campton CX. We’ll take them to the lost and found box at Psimet this weekend. There are some really nice things in that box so by all means check it out if you’re missing anything. It smells very badly so you’ll want to get your lost thing out of there asap before it walks off on its’ own.

Scott,
Was it a Fila fleece?
Ben . Yes it has my name on the collar tag and my race license and ph# in pocket

Scott, confirmed. It’s your fleece. Let me know the best way to get it to you. Thanks.

To the guy wearing the dumpster fire costume, I applaud you for your creativity! My favorite costume of the day!

Hi all,
My wife lost her Jeep key fob (no key) somewhere on the course yesterday. Registration does have all my info, but thought I’d reach out here too.
If anyone found, please contact me at 423-503-7554.
Thanks,
-Mike

Is said lost and found box available before Psimet? Or is it deep within the bowels of the CCC trailer?
Hi Mike – you’d have to contact Psimet and probably shoot over to their place to retrieve what you’re looking for
