Hi everyone,
If anyone came across a Garmin 520 head unit anywhere within the venue, could you please let me know. I lost it at some point. Kinda need it.
Thanks,
Tim Strelecki
In case you are in a pinch, I have a Garmin 820 that works fine except the power switch doesn’t turn it off. Happy to donate it. Work in West Loop, live in Western Springs. Lemme know.
I found it in one of the wooded sections and gave it to a volunteer. A few more minutes and I’m sure it would have been packed in deep mud forever. Lol
There were a bunch of jackets left at the start by the end of the day. They were put in the CCC trailer with all of the course supplies for next next race. Check with the race organizers next race.
Brilliant course design. Superb cyclocross weather. Terrific racing. The most engaged, supportive, and inviting scene you could ever hope for. Just watched Ken Kreb’s video posted above. Great start by a motorcycle racer. Reminded me of the pre-ride I did an hour before grinning ear to ear the whole lap around. Best to turn his sound down, as he has zero potential as a telemarketer. Can’t wait to see your videos and pictures through all the channels. Send us a link, if possible. #DRWcx #ChiCrossCup.
Thank you to Beverly Bikes for such fun. Thank you to the Cook County Forest Preserve for the generous playground. Thank you to SRAM for having our back. Great work by our series photographer Robert, our USAC officials, One2Go, and so many more.
Thankful for a holiday to mitigate the #CxHangover. Please click a buck when you bikereg for Sunday. Every time. Have a great week.
That was one of the most fun days on a CX bike in a long time. Kudos to Bev Bikes crew for creating such a fun and challenging course and for giving the P/1/2 race that muddy wooded descent to test our nerves and our skill. Just really a great day out on the course yesterday. Despite your result, I think everyone had a real blast out there!
I did not try the rear camera view this week as I figured it would have just been curtained with mud. Will bring back the rear camera view at future events.
Mens 1/2/3 & Women’s 1/2. I might post some more later in the week from Mens 4 race if I find the time… Feel free to use any of these images for social media, but please credit @mikenauman.cc (instagram)
What a fun course combined with proper cyclocross weather. Thanks to all the organizers.
Since Cat 3 doesn’t get much video love this season, here is the 1st lap and 1/2. I’ll get a bigger memory stick next time. https://youtu.be/asMsGcQMYZA

Hey, it was a really muddy day 🙂
I lost my car key (Nissan) somewhere on the course, if anybody got it please let me know. Beer guaranteed 🙂
I have it. I already had a beer, too.

Thank you very much, I’m going to pick it up on Sunday in Carpentersville and as I promised, there will be beer waiting for you at Kenny’s tent.
Try cyclocross they said. It’s fun they said. First few laps of the 45+ race with annoying wheezing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68zB_VjRykk&feature=youtu.be
Hey all, left my red and black wind/rain jacket at the start yesterday at the w3/4 start. If you came across it I can grab it at the next race.

In honor of the fact that we raced alongside the Major Taylor Bicycle Path;

Loved it. Exhausting hills spaced out just right. Mud always brings out the best in me (or the worse in everyone else…).

Anyone happen to find a Lifeline Ambulance vest at the starting corral?

Because the course was so much fun I had to do it twice… or THRICE!

Since the camera was covered in mud most of the time, here are some highlights from 45+ mostly first and last lap.

Just a thought, how about Chicrosscup have a “ Wisconsin day” at one of the races and allow the Wisconsin riders the first 8 spots in the front row?🤔
I like the idea, but remember that the winner normally comes from the back row!
