The West Town Bikes juniors (and me) thought the course was amazing and the day was great! My juniors are new to the sport and are constantly blown away by how friendly everyone is. Thank you Sasquatch Squad!
What an amazing day of racing. Beautiful weather, good people, and a truly inspired course design. Huge thanks as always to everyone involved in putting on the show – we see you and the work you do. See you all next week!
Huge thanks to the Sasquatch Squadron for putting on such an awesome race today! And what a beautiful day to race! Thanks to all that took part, our team had such a great time racing and spectating. Can’t wait for next week!
To our brothers in the Sasquatch Squadron, THANK YOU! This was the best course EVER. Thank you for all your hard work and extra care. Yes I noticed all the hand screen printed posters around the course, I know the work that goes into that stuff and it’s appreciated.
What a day yesterday. Thanks to the Sasquatch Squadron for designing a fun and challenging course on a beautiful day for racing. Big thanks also to those racing in the 35+ category for always pushing me and having fun out there each week.
I will fourth or fifth the comment that this course kicked a ton of ass. 11,000 turns and no mud/fairway quicksand for once made for a ton of fun.
I would also like to note how supremely tickled I was with how the rollers COMPLETELY outed those riders who haven’t rode MTB or BMX before and had no concept of pumping. Caused me to take a dive but the entertainment value outweighed it.
Thank you so much to everyone that came out to party with us. The posters that Andy Sauder made were really great, right? Thank you to each member of the Squadron for making the course what it was. Thank you to CAMBr North for helping with the installation of the steps and the sculpting of the “sand”. Thank you to everyone that helped break down the course and clean up the site at the end of the day. Thank you to all the race directors for making the series happen by coordinating behind the scenes to make sure all the permits are pulled, contracts are signed and paid out, food is available, and portapotties are on site. It takes a village.
Such a different course that the others so far. Took a very different skillset – which I haven’t mastered yet – lol. First time on a pump track and it showed. Great work installing an incredible course.
for those of us who want to suck less the next time we encounter a pump track in a race, where can we find a place to practice that? I believe there’s some in the Big Marsh park, anywhere else?
Either your local BMX track or skatepark would be a convenient starting point. That’s where I learned.
After that, a weekend get away to Ray’s in Cleveland will allow you to totally master the skillset.
It’s nice if you can find a pump track (like the one at Ray’s) that is set up properly, so that if it’s not working out for you then you know it’s clearly your fault as opposed to poor construction of the rollers.
You can also swing by Andres Bike Park in Carpentersville! We built a flow trail that is good for all skill levels where you can improve bike pumping rollers, bike handling and even jumping. Check it out.
Those places definitely need more 40 yr old, balding men in spandex!! I loved the pump track at the race (albeit at sad, slow speeds…). I am absolutely bringing my CX bike into one of the skate parks in the city next time I pass one.
Kodiak Rider – here is the other perspective to your finish… Man, I worked so hard to catch up to you guys only to blow the finish… Great sprint – look forward to another finish like that this season…
Many accolades to Main Street’s Sasquatch Squadron for squeezing so much awesome into one school yard. It really felt like we weren’t at Indian Lakes for a 4th week in a row.
Ben, your Topeak pump was left at registration so it should be in the lost and found. If it isn’t there come see me at the Tailwind tent and I can get you a new one.
Here are Juniors & Cat 3 pics. It’s been a few years since I’ve been out to shoot a ChiCrossCup race. Fun to be out there a bit again today.

Super fun course and love all the improvements. Impressive what can be done with such a limited space. Thanks for a great race!
Thanks! These are awesome!

Really fun course yesterday! Thanks Main Street, you all did a heck of a job!
Did anyone happen to spot a lone Joe Blow pump? I absent mindedly left it over near the Tailwind tent. Hoping it made its way to the lost & found
ChiCrossCup Friends-

So sad I missed this one… watched the video and that looked like the best course ever

Thanks to Jeff and the rest of the MSB crew for an excellent day and my favorite course of the season so far.
Corners and turns! Who knew?!?!

“The Garden” by Lane Tech has a good flow/pump track loop in addition to the dirt jumps.
