Thank you all for being so inviting and helpful to a Newbie to CCx
I stand back in awe of you all
Why anybody that enjoys riding a bike would not want to be part of this I do not understand.
Thank you to all the riders, organizers and especially to the volunteers
CCC was
AMAZING!
….. because my kid who has spent his entire life at races decided to cross the course at the worst time. I was told you stopped, told him it was OK because you “weren’t going to win anyway” and let him cross the course. I also heard you were top 10 at the time.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a lot. Also apologies: he knows better.
Anyone happen to pick up an orange jacket at the start? It’s an REI brand jacket with a hood, had a smartwool hat in the pocket. Left it at the beginning of the last race.
Thanks!
Left my teal Johnny Johnny sprockets water bottle by the SMC tent if anyone happened to come across it…(I know..just a water bottle but I happen to like that one)
A shout out to Spider Monkeys for hosting us at Montrose. Also – BRAVO to the the wonderful team of officials who join us week after week. So very professional and part of our CX family. Our sponsor and ChiCross organizers deserve our huge gratitude as well. Thank You!!
Great job all involved in course design, organization, announcing, officiating, and of course, racing. Special shoutout to our 45+ field, who kept it competitive, smooth, safe and served it all up with a side of post race camaraderie.
Thanks to everyone for making the season finale of the CCC and the Midwest Regional Championship such a great day. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this world of cross a few years ago and am so grateful for the new friendships.
Great course with just about everything – apart from mud and water holes, but I think that we had enough of that this season anyway 🙂
Great racing all day long! Great course and venue. Best version of Montrose I’ve taken part in. This was a UCI level event from course, to atmosphere (honestly better attended than some UCI races I’ve been to) to racing.
I also want to commend SM on making the decision to remove parking in the start finish area on the road. To me made the biggest difference to the atmosphere at the race. It opened up that area and kept everything really safe, no chance of accidentally riding in front of a moving car and kiddos and parents were able to relax without the threat of people pulling in and out of parking spots. I paid for a parking spot near the start for convenience and was happy to do it.
Also the band at the start of the mens and womens races in the middle of the day. Next level.
Anyone find a dark green heavy raincoat by the starting grid after the 4/5 race? Looked by the grid, reg, Kenny’s tent… Hoping someone grabbed it by mistake.
You have to love a day that includes racing a fun and challenging course, hanging out and watching great racing and enjoying the company of friends made in this community. Thanks to everyone involved in putting the day together and pulling it off in such grand style.
Rob, that was Noah. He said it was a very close call because of where it happened on the course.
I think the fact that he, too, has grown up around cx races, he understood how it could happen. Or, maybe it was because of how we raised him. Nah, probably the first reason.
Thanks for the thanks, and apologies.
Thanks to all the race organizers, spectators, and volunteers. Montrose CX is my favorite bike event every year. The course was awesome!!! I love the challenge of the sand sections. And the spectators lining the sand jump during the 4/5’s…beats the old collegiate mtb days for most epic heckling. I loved all of it!

Sorry for spamming, I don’t know how to delete comments, but I also wanted to say thank you to whoever the dude was who kept my sunglasses for me when I ditched them when it was getting dark in the cat. 4. and then found me at the start of the 4/5 to return them Thanks again dude!
Hey Ya’ll wudda great season! Here’s a liitle Go Pro quick story from the day. My son is the racer, but I told him I’d race cat 4/5’s with him. He killed me! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5GPzkcisW8
We are drawing a rider’s number from Sunday’s race for a WORX Tools Hydroshot powerwasher.
The crew from Michigan traveled into town for Midwest Regionals and left us this nice prize.
You will be notified if you won. The drawing will be live-streamed on the Pony Shop JR FB page Wednesday 7pm. Must have started Sunday. Prereg not enough. Finishing not required.
What a way to end the 2019 ChiCross Cup season! As a final gift to Chicago before leaving for Colorado, SpiderMonkey Becky Mikrut put together a championship-worthy course that was challenging, highlighted the Chicago shoreline, and offered up numerous prime viewing spots.
Before we sign off for the season we want to say thank you to all of the racers, officials, fans, volunteers, and family who made this season such a wonderful experience. Week after week you all confirmed for countless reasons why the ChiCross Cup is indeed the best amateur cx series in the country.

The best Montrose course yet! Love the start, the sand and the fast descent and corners. Thanks to all the organizers, racers, vendors, photographers and spectators that cheer (yes we hear you and appreciate it every time we go by). Big thanks to bike shops (Pony Ship and 7 Mile Cycles in my case) for gluing our tires and keeping sand out of the bottom brackets. And of course Kenny! Love The Chicago Cross Cup! See you all next year.
Montrose was really something. What a challenging course and energetic atmosphere! Thank you so much to all of the organizers, volunteers, spectators and fellow participants.
Photos are up from Montrose. Sorry for the delay but it’s been a busy week for me…
Photographing the series this season was a lot of fun and it was nice to meet so many of you. Thanks to everyone who said hello, offered kind words about my work, and purchased/credited images throughout the season -I really appreciate it. It’s truly a great series and I was happy to help document it through images every weekend. I plan on doing it all again next year, and I might even do some racing… See you then!

To the cat 3 racer who almost clocked my kid…..
….. because my kid who has spent his entire life at races decided to cross the course at the worst time. I was told you stopped, told him it was OK because you “weren’t going to win anyway” and let him cross the course. I also heard you were top 10 at the time.

Left my jacket at start of Cat 4 race. Red xXx jacket, BOH marked inside. Not sure if there’s a lost and found. Great race and location! Thanks
I took a shower with my beads
@supergirl-Jamie took your instructions very seriously and wore his beads in the hot tub before bed.
That was more fun than I can accurately describe.

If I can give a praise … I believe that racer was Noah Anderson … fine gentlemen

Lost: Black LL Bean rain jacket (with Pearl Izumi gloves shoved in one sleeve). @TheAlmaGP on Twitter, IG if you managed to find it!
THANK YOU for a great event!

By the way, I can’t wait to see the kind of energy the CCC fam brings to the national champs next year. Gonna be super epic!
