CCC Tuesday Updates – 20241029
October 29, 2024
- Another great day of racing at ABD Sunrise Park hosted by none other than Athlete’s By Design. Links to all Results are here.
- Next up the series heads further West to Campton for Campton Cross. More details on Thursday, Reg closes on Friday, weather looks wet, so bring a change of clothes and a pressure washer if you got one. Oh and Campton is our Halloween race. Dress up if you want to, just remember the officials and finish line camera still need to see your bib number, so please make sure it’s visible or you will not be scored.
- Speaking of being scored properly, please remember to pin your bib number on the SIDE of your jersey… not the top, not the back, not anywhere else. The officials and finish line camera are on the side of the course… not in a blimp high above, not in a drone following you around, not behind you. Thanks!
- And finally… we’ve been trying to get the word out that lots and lots of people still don’t have a team name in our results. We match all team names from the Cyclocross Team or Club on your USAC license, so if it’s not there or correct we don’t have it. It doesn’t matter what you have in BikeReg or what shows up on CrossResults.com or what jersey you’re wearing at the race. Please check your results here (the sheet is sorted by team name then last name) and after you confirm your USAC license is updated, email us and let us know. This is the last time we’ll mention this for the rest of the season. Congrats to Southeastern Lakes Scholastic Mtb who are currently in the team competition lead!

NO GLORY FOR SANDBAGGERS
Great day of racing. Lots of fun, let’s keep it that way.
An open letter to all Cat3 M riders. May you please please please consider racing the 123 instead of the 3/4 at Heritage Park. It will be a lot of fun and we will have less people crashing into the back of us at the start (and then pushing people and screaming? Anyone catch who that was? Anyway….) What do you say Cat3 doods? ARE YOU IN?!?!??!
Shouldn’t say “instead of” race all the races.
*Taps the USAC rulebook*
4A6. The starting stretch shall be a minimum of 200 meters in length and at least
6 meters wide to allow the field to string out properly. It shall be as straight as
possible and not downhill. The first narrowing or obstacle after the starting stretch
may not be abrupt, but shall allow all the riders to pass easily.
I am new to cyclocross and looking for an entry-level bike. Does anyone happen to know if a Cervélo R5CX would be adequate for racing Men’s Cat 5? Thanks in advance!

@Malort Handup I think a new sworks crux with sram red and zipp 303 firecrests would serve a beginner well, maybe even better than an r5cx. It really depends on how busy your dental practice has been lately. A custom titanium bike is a great place to start as well, remember you can always upgrade to something nicer in the future!
Thanks for a fun race everyone!
Sorry to those that I really got in the way of a couple of times!
Men’s 3/4; watch me F up 3 times…

all good Peter, me in the first one and chris in the 2nd one…good job getting back up there. I should have returned to course right away – I was super frazzled.
